A Note From Gene and Jo Ann Taylor, Co-founders of The Walking Connection
RE: Recent Corona Virus Outbreak - February 26, 2020
Since beginning The Walking Connection in 1989, our highest priority has always been the safety and well-being of our guests.We take extraordinary care to research and learn about the places where we plan to travel and how best to ensure safe passage for every guest. The places we choose to visit and the paths we choose to walk are not just places where we send people on their own; they are also the roads we travel ourselves, personally.
As we look at the present and to our future travels, we want you to know that we keep a vigilant eye on the state of the world’s affairs, both at home and abroad. We have and continue to look far beyond the headlines of television news and seek not only what the American news and governmental agencies report, but look to international sources as well as actual current experiences in the local regions by people we personally know.
As we do, we want to reassure you, our guests, that if we ever have any indication that there is any instability or increased possibility of any danger on any Walking Connection adventure, we would not hesitate to postpone or cancel any trip. We have done so in the past due to terrorist activities, the regional epidemics of Avian flu and SARS, and because of natural events such as volcanic eruptions.
Further, we know that the Corona virus is going to have an effect on all of us, either directly or indirectly. We remain flexible on amending our itineraries, shifting dates and destinations along with our payment terms and conditions for each trip. We want you to feel confident about your travel investment and personal safety in every step of the process.
We will continue to explore our world for all the reasons we each chose to travel in the first place. Our goal remains the same as the day we began; to seek out, plan and lead safe adventures to the world’s most exciting destinations. As always, we welcome your comments and questions.
